Welcome

Preferans Wiki is created to answer many questions about the complicated card game called Preferans.

Actually, there are at least 5 variations of this game and MANY tips, tricks and "rules" in each of them. Here we will try to explain ALL of them.

Writing / Editing Rules

If you create/edit a page please follow these few rules:

  • PLEASE be polite in general, just don't curse and don't be rude...
  • PLEASE make sure that what you write is correct. So if you are writing about a local variation of some rule make sure this is understood...
  • PLEASE don't delete someones article or edition just because "in your village you don't play like that", accept the fact that there are MANY variations to most rules. If you have a different rule just add your variation...
  • PLEASE try to use English if you can, there are sections for different languages available, if your language is not in the list please send a message to the moderator cope and he will add it immediately...
  • PLEASE refer to Wikipedia Tutorial if you are unsure of how and/or what to write...
  • PLEASE refer to theTerms & Conditions for any other issues...

Links

Preff.net: Here you can play Preferans on-line. For now there is only Balkan Preferans available, but the Preff TEAM is working hard to provide all other variations as well.
Currently the site is available in English, Serbian, Croatian and Bulgarian. Russian translation is in progress while other languages will depend on volunteer members.
Best of all Preff is created in AJAX so you don't have to download anything.

preferans.ning.com: Here you will find a great Preferans Forum. People from all over the world discuss and share experiences about the different variations of this great game.

pagat.com: Here you will find a great website with detailed descriptions of hundreds of different card games. Among these you will find rules for: Russian Preferans, Balkan Preferans, Greek Prefa, Hungarian Preferansz and Austrian Preference. The initial rules pages on this Wiki were literally stolen from pagat.com hoping that John won't mind.

ipref.com: Here you can download a program which allows you to play Balkan Preferans over the net. The program is in Serbian and you can play using either "Hungarian" (German suited) or French suited cards.

PeekStr.com: This website has absolutely nothing to do with Preferans. It's just cool :)))
